Things might seem quiet with the LTA, but…

There is a tremendous amount of important work going on behind the scenes right now! Stakeholder groups are in the process of having “listening sessions” with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This is an opportunity for groups to educate CMS officials and make recommendations about the rules related to the coverage for compression garments and supplies.

Groups who we know have already participated in a listening session with CMS are: the Lymphedema Advocacy Group (our organization), the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA), the National Lymphedema Network (NLN), the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, and the US Compression Alliance.

Groups who we know have upcoming listening sessions are: the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the Alliance of Woundcare Stakeholders. Others may be in the works, and we have encouraged all of the organizations who supported the LTA to request a listening session.

As a reminder, you too will have an opportunity to have your voice heard during the public comment period later this year. You can learn more about the public comment period and many other things in our Frequently Asked Questions document.

We are in the process of finalizing plans for our DC celebration and the dates are still anticipated to be May 22nd and 23rd. We hope to be signing contracts to secure our event space and hotel room block this week. As soon as the dates are locked in we will let you know. We hope you will be able to join us!
