How to send a personal letter to your members of Congress

Below are instructions for sending a custom letter to your members of Congress
through the Lymphedema Treatment Act website. 

Personal letters are very effective and we encourage you to
take the time to craft your own message.

  1. From our website click on the “#1 Priority – Email Congress” tab under the
    How You Can Help menu on the left hand side.
  2. Select “Take Action, Contact Your Members of Congress” from the tiny menu at the top of the Legislative Action Center page.
  3. Select “Legislator Info” along the small top menu within the Legislative Action Center.
  4. Find the desired member of Congress by using the search options.
  5. Once you are viewing the profile for that member click on the “Contact” tab.
  6. Then select “Contact via Web Form”.
  7. You will be directed to a submission form just like the one when using our template letter but you will be able to compose the entire message yourself.
  8. Remember to explicitly ask them to cosponsor the Lymphedema Treatment Act.
    Nothing about lymphedema, this website, or the legislation will automatically be included,
    so you must be clear about why you are contacting them.
