61% of the members of Congress have already cosponsored the LTA, but 39 Senators and 167 House members have not signed on yet. Persistence is the key to getting their support!
Over 7,000 bills have already been introduced in this Congress. Over 600 of them are healthcare bills. Each congressional aide typically handles several policy areas, so you can imagine the number of bills each one is trying to keep up with. It is the congressional aides who review each bill and recommend select ones to the Representative or Senator for cosponsorship.
With new bills being introduced every day, it’s easy for any one bill to get lost in the shuffle if they aren’t receiving consistent contact. Therefore, we urge you to call again!
The following pages on our website will provide you with lists of all cosponsoring and non-cosponsoring members, their phone numbers, and a call script. You’ll also find links to send an email letter. Calling is more effective, but sending an email is a good secondary step.
Congratulations to the following nine states who have all of their members of Congress on board: Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Washington.
For all other states, please keep those phone calls and emails coming. Thank you for your advocacy!
