It’s not over till it’s over – PLEASE KEEP CALLING!

by Heather on December 10, 2018

Congress is projected to wrap up their final session for this year as soon as this Friday, or as late as next Friday, and we need to keep pushing for passage until the final day!

In addition to including the LTA in the must-pass Omnibus spending bill, Congressional Leaders could use procedural moves called “Suspension” in the House and “Hotline” in the Senate, to put our bill directly on the floor for an up or down vote.

Please continue to call the Congressional Leaders below.

Note that there are similar but separate scripts for the House and Senate.

* SENATE Finance Committee Chairman, Senator Orrin Hatch: 202-224-5251

* SENATE Finance Committee & LTA Co-lead, Senator Chuck Grassley: 202-224-3744

* SENATE Majority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell: 202-224-2541 (DC) or 270-781-1673 (State Office)

* HOUSE Ways & Means Committee Chairman, Representative Kevin Brady: 202-225-4901

* HOUSE Majority Leader, Representative Kevin McCarthy: 202-225-2915

* HOUSE Speaker, Representative Paul Ryan: 202-225-3031

SENATE Phone Script –
“I’m calling to urge Senator [name] to include the Lymphedema Treatment Act (S.497/H.R.930) in the omnibus spending bill or use the “hotline” procedure to bring it to a vote. With 449 cosponsors, this bipartisan and bicameral bill is the most widely supported healthcare bill in Congress. Millions of Americans with lymphedema – the majority of them cancer survivors – need this bill passed now.”

HOUSE Phone Script –
“I’m calling to urge Representative [name] to include the Lymphedema Treatment Act (H.R.930/S.497) in the omnibus spending bill or put it on the Suspension calendar for a vote. With 449 cosponsors, this bipartisan and bicameral bill is the most widely supported healthcare bill in Congress. Millions of Americans with lymphedema – the majority of them cancer survivors – need this bill passed now.”

Please call daily if possible. Thank you for your advocacy during this critical time!
