Nancy’s Story

by Heather on August 26, 2014

I was diagnosed with lymphedema in 2003. The doctors say it was a result from my hysterectomy a few years earlier. Both of my legs are hugely swollen. I attended a lymphedema clinic in 2003 and 2004, but can’t continue to afford it. The swelling puts extreme pressure on my knees and makes it difficult for me to get around. I am now on permanent disability.

I wear circaids on my lower legs to help control the swelling. Now that I am on disability medicare will not pay any amount for them.

A pair of circaids costs about $15oo.00 and I can not afford to replace my battered ones.

thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I am only 51 years old and sometimes feel my life is over.
