We are cautiously optimistic that the Lymphedema Treatment Act will be voted on during the lame duck session after the election!
Although we will continue to work on adding to our number of cosponsors until the day it goes to the floor for a vote, this week we are asking that you help us with a different task – thanking the members who already support the LTA!
Thanking them is not only the polite thing to do, but will also help to refresh their memory about our bill, which is important. Sample text for phone and written messages is below my signature.
Because we have a whopping 443 cosponsors, those lists are too long to include here, but you can quickly and easily see which of your members of Congress are among our supporters using these links:
Senate Cosponsors / House Cosponsors
After identifying which of your members of Congress need to be thanked, use these links to see their phone and mailing information:
Senators’ phone numbers and mailing addresses are here.
Representatives’ phone numbers are here, and you can follow the link to their website for mailing addresses.
It’s up to you if you want to call, write, or better yet, do both! Thank you for your continued advocacy. Together, we can pass the Lymphedema Treatment Act!

CALL SCRIPT:
“I am a constituent calling to thank Senator/Representative [name] for cosponsoring the Lymphedema
Treatment Act, which is House bill H.R.930 and Senate bill S.497. With 443 cosponsors, this is
now the most supported healthcare bill in Congress. Hopefully it will be voted on during the lame duck
session after the election. This bill is very important to me personally and I hope I can count on
Senator/Representative [name] continued support and YES vote.”
THANK YOU LETTER TEXT:
Same as the above call text, but add some personalization in the remaining space if you like.
Your entire letter should not be more than one page. An optional second page with pictures is fine,
however. The personal section should focus on how compression garments and supplies improve your
health and quality of life, or that of your patients’ or loved ones. Please do not refer to compression
garments as expensive or unaffordable, instead, stress that they are medically necessary, as that is
the most compelling reason why Congress needs to act on this.
