Susan’s Story

by Heather on March 2, 2014

Three years ago December 13 , I went to a Baltimore Hospital. They had me sitting in the er for 5 hours. When they finally took me back and was about to send me home something happened. The next miuute the left leg started to turn black. I went into septic shock. I was transfered to another hospital the next morning. I had Necrotizing Fascitis. I had many many operations to get rid of the infection. They had me in a induced coma for several weeks. After they did everything to keep me alive they realized I had Lymphedema due to all the operations. I now have a very sore leg. I use a pump 2 times a day, compression garment all the time, a Tribute Night garment. All of these garments and the pump are extremely costly ,and as you know insurance does not cover them. Something must be done to change this. Please help me and others.
